Drink Water!
‘I believe that water is the only drink for a wise man.’ ~Henry David Thoreau
Most people are chronically dehydrated. Very often when you feel hungry in the middle of the day or evening it is really not hunger, but thirst. Thirst disguises itself as hunger so often. When you feel hungry, always drink a glass of water first! The standard is we should be drinking half our body weight in ounces every day. In other words if someone weighs 140 pounds, they should be drinking 70 ounces of water every day. Filtered water is best. Please don’t buy plastic bottles of water, unless it is an emergency. ‘Out of the 50 billion bottles of water being bought each year, 80% end up in a landfill, even though recycling programs exist. 17 million barrels of oil are used in producing bottled water each year. Bottled water costs 1,000 times more than tap water.’

Tip: I have four water bottles that I fill every morning so there is always water ready to go with me. Grab and go. It is a part of my self-care every day. I always have water. Another bonus about drinking water is that it is not soda or juice or anything else that is sugary sweet, spikes the blood sugar and adds empty calories!
Drinking enough water is a simple way to feel better. Whenever you have a little headache, if you are craving something sweet, or you’re just not feeling good, drink two glasses of water first. Chances are you will feel better in about 15 to 20 minutes.
